Package General Information & Conditions



Package Details

  • Packages are bases on minimum numbers.
  • The cruise and vessel, Melba Star, will be exclusive to your group alone.
  • Packages are inclusive so that the per-head price includes all food, unlimited beverages, four-hour charter of the boat and DJ as entertainment.
  • Packages are available seven (7) days a week for lunch or dinner.
  • Please note: The latest departure time for evening cruise functions is 7:30 p.m.


Departure Point

Berth C Southbank Promenade - downstream of the Southgate Footbridge & before the Queens Bridge.



Additional Hours
  • Over Four (4) Hours, can be pre-arranged.
  • Additional charges are incurred for extra time. Price on application.


Beverages
  • Patrons are welcome to BYO red wines.
  • City River Cruises does not supply any spirits & customers may not bring on board their own spirits.


Decorations

To add your own personal touch, you are welcome to decorate the boat, with either floral arrangements, balloons or ribbons (no candles, glitter, sparklers, party poppers or confetti please). If an adhesive is required to fix the decorations, please use only Blu Tack or string. The boat will be accessible strictly one hour prior to the cruise departure time.



Entertainment
  • DJ Entertainment is included with most packages depending on numbers. You are not permitted to BYO DJ. Alternatively you are welcome to organise a band for your cruise.
  • Our DJ will contact you approximately one (1) week prior to the cruise date to discuss your musical preferences and requirements directly with you.


Furniture & Equipment
  • Provision of all chairs is included with the packages. Complementary cocktail tables (small & round) are provided.


Table Hire
  • If your wish to have your guests seated at tables, the maximum we can accommodate is 80 people (10 tables of eight).
  • Table hire available for buffet menu, price on application.


Security Bond
  • A Security Bond of $400 is applicable to all private function bookings.
  • The bond is fully refundable, subject to damages to the vessel & equipment, and is issued within approximately 14 days of cruise date unless otherwise specified.


Deposit
  • A Deposit of one third of the total cost (Security Bond included) is required within 7 days of placing a confirmed booking, at which time a booking contract will be issued to you.
  • If the function is booked less than two (2) weeks from the cruise date the full amount of the function must be paid, by seven (7) working days prior to the cruise date.


Balance
  • Final numbers & balance payment are confirmed fourteen (14) days before the cruise date.
  • A Tax Invoice is issued to you on confirmation of numbers.
  • Balance payment is payable strictly by seven (7) working days before the cruise date.
